Easy Palak Paneer Recipe
- 1 table spoon oil.
- 1 tablespoon butter.
- 1-2 bay leaf.
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds.
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder.
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder.
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder.
- 1 teaspoon dry fenugreek leaves.
- 1 teaspoon red chilli powder.
- 1/4 teaspoon garam masala.
- A pinch of nutmeg powder (optional).
- Salt to taste.
- 1-2 table spoon chopped garlic.
- 1 tablespoon chopped ginger.
- 1 medium onion chopped.
- 2-3 medium sized tomato chopped.
- 2-3 green chillies.
- 2 tablespoon fresh cilantro (optional).
- 400 grams spinach leaves (washed and roughly chopped.
- 150 grams paneer cut in to cubes.
- 2 tablespoon fresh cream.
How to make Easy Palak Paneer
- Step-1
Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a pan, add another tablespoon of butter to it. - Step-2
Once the oil is hot add bay leaf and cumin seeds and let them splutter. - Step-3
Now add chopped garlic and ginger, sauté for a minute. - Step-4
Once done add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown. - Step-5
Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, dry fenugreek leaves and mix well. - Step-6
Now add chopped tomatoes and salt, cook until they are soft and oil starts to separate. - Step-7
Now add some water in the pan and bring it to boil. - Step-8
Add the chopped spinach leaves and cook for 2-3 minutes until its tender. - Step-9
After cooling remove the bayleaf and transfer the mixture to the blending jar. Add green chilli and some fresh cilantro and grind everything to a smooth paste. - Step-10
In a pan add some ghee or butter and add some chopped garlic followed by red chilli powder. - Step-11
Add the blended mixture and adjust the consistency. Cook for few minutes. - Step-12
Once you get the desired consistency add the paneer cubes and cook for 2-3 more minutes. - Step-13
Lastly add some garam masala, nutmeg and cream, mix it together and cover it. Switch off the heat. - Step-14
Serve it hot with chapati or naan.
Notes:
- Do not add too much of tomatoes it may ruin the taste of the dish.
- Do not over cook the spinach otherwise it will loose its cooler as well as nutritional value.
