Easy Ragi Soup Recipe
- 4 tablespoon ragi flour.
- 1 teaspoon black pepper.
- 1/2 teaspoon salt or as per taste.
- Water as required (i used 4-5 cups).
- 1 tablespoon oil.
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic (optional).
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds.
- ½ teaspoon mustard seeds (optional).
- Vegetables i used.
- 1 medium onion.
- 1 medium carrot.
- ¼ broccoli.
- 2-3 baby corns.
- 4-5 french beans.
- 3 tablespoon peas.
- 2-3 spring onion greens.
- ½ red bell pepper.
- For garnishing.
- 4 tablespoon coriander leaves (cilantro).
How to make Easy Ragi Soup
- Step-1
Add ragi flour in a bowl and some water and make a lump free batter and keep it aside. - Step-2
Now, put a deep-bottomed pan on medium flame and add oil to it. Add cumin and mustard seeds and let them crackle. - Step-3
Next, add onion and garlic and saute for a minute. - Step-4
Now add vegetables except spring onion and bell pepper. Add salt and mix everything. - Step-5
Cover and cook for 1-2 minutes on low heat. - Step-6
Add spring onions and bell pepper. - Step-7
Now, add ragi flour paste in it followed by water. Mix well to combine everything. - Step-8
Keep stirring and allow the mixture to come to boil. Let it cook until it becomes shiny and little darker in color or until you get the desired consistency this might take around 8 to 10 minutes. - Step-9
Lastly add freshly cracked black peppers and coriander leaves. - Step-10
Check and adjust the seasoning and serve it hot.
Notes:
- There is no hard and fast rule for vegetables. You can use the vegetables of your choice or according to season.
- You can increase or decrease the quantity of veggies or you can omit it.
- You can adjust the amount of water according to how thick or thin you like your soup to be.
