Chocolate Cake Without Cocoa Powder

Rather than using the biscuit, using drinking chocolate as a substitute of cocoa powder gives it real chocolate flavour, so the cake comes out so decadent. If you do not do baking so often or not confident enough to use the oven this quick and easy microwave cake is designed for you.
The ingredients are easily available at home and the recipe is so simple to put together and it only takes 5 minutes in microwave rather than baking it for an hour or so.

Easy Chocolate Cake Without Cocoa Powder Recipe
- 1 cup milk/water.
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
- ¼ cup sugar.
- ¼ cup oil/melted butter.
- ½ cup +2-4 tablespoon plain flour.
- ½ cup +2 tablespoon drinking chocolate.
- 1 teaspoon baking powder.
- ½ teaspoon baking soda.
- 1/8 teaspoon salt.
- 1 teaspoon vinegar or 2 teaspoon lemon juice.
- ---for icing.
- 2 cup whipped cream.
- ---for chocolate ganache.
- ½ cup dark chocolate.
- ½ cup-1 tablespoon cream.
- ---for garnishing.
- Some strawberry sliced (optional).
How to make Easy Chocolate Cake Without Cocoa Powder
- Step-1
In a mixing bowl take milk, sugar oil and vanilla extract. Whisk it well to combine or until sugar is dissolved. - Step-2
Now place a sieve over the bowl and add plain flour, drinking chocolate, baking powder, baking soda and salt to it. - Step-3
Sift half of the dry ingredients and mix with the wet ones. - Step-4
Now add the remaining dry ingredients and combine well to make a lumpfree batter. - Step-5
Batter should be slightly this than a regular cake batter because we are going to cook it in microwave. - Step-6
Pour the batter in a grease and lined container. - Step-7
Now add the vinegar to it and quickly mix it with the batter. - Step-8
Microwave it on full power for 4-6 minutes. To check you can insert a toothpick in the centre if it comes out clean, its done. - Step-9
Let it cool in the container for 5 minutes. - Step-10
Then unmould it, remove the butter paper and let it cool completely before icing. - Step-11
Cut a layer of the cake and keep it aside. - Step-12
Apply a generous layer of whipped cream on the cake and put another layer on top. - Step-13
Cover all sides of the cake with whipped cream and smooth it with help of cake smoother. - Step-14
Let the cake rest in the fridge and make the chocolate ganache meanwhile. - Step-15
For ganache take chopped chocolate and cream in a microwave safe bowl and microwave it for 30-40 seconds or until the chocolate melts. - Step-16
Stir with spatula making sure there is no chocolate chunks left. - Step-17
Let the ganache come cool a bit before you pour it on the cake. - Step-18
Take out the chilled cake and pour the ganache over it, making the lovely drips on sides. - Step-19
Finally garnish it with some fresh strawberry slices on top.
Notes:
- If you do not want to use milk you can add water instead.
- In place of vinegar 2 teaspoon lemon juice can be used.
- If you want to make it in the oven than reduce the amount of milk in the recipe.
