Spot Idli Recipe Hyderabad style | Spot Idli on Tawa
Spot Idli recipe is mostly common in Hyderabad as a street food and people love this recipe a lot.
I have made this recipe in a quick and easy way and it does not need idli stand.
It is instant idli recipe that is cooked directly on pan that is why is called as Spot Idli.

- 1 medium onion roughly chopped
- 1 -2 tomatoes roughly chipped
- 1 green chilli finely chopped
- 1 tbsp fresh coriander chopped
- 1-2 tbsp butter + 1 tbsp
- 1 tsp Idli podi masala+for sprinkling on top
- 1 cup idli batter
Heat a pan and add onion, tomatoes,green chilli, coriander, butter and idli podi masala to it. If you don’t have idly masala add ½ tsp of sambar masala instead.
Fry the masala for few minutes, then divide into four parts.
Pour over the idli batter on the masala and sprinkle some more podi masala on top.
Add some more butter if needed and cover the pan.
Cook on low to medium heat until the idlies are steamed properly. Flip and cook on other side the same way.
Once done on both side serve it hot with any chutney of your choice.
